Notice of Basketball Ireland Annual General Meeting 2024

The Irish Basketball Association Company Limited by Guarantee (the “Company”) notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Company will be held on Saturday 25th of May, 2024 at the National Basketball Arena at 11 o'clock in the morning for the following purposes:

Business of the AGM 

1. Chairperson's address
2. to consider and approve the minutes of the 27^th May 2023 annual general meeting 
3. to receive the Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2023 and the report of the directors and auditors thereon
4. to authorise the directors to fix the renumeration of the auditors for the audit of the Financial Statements to the year ended 31 December 2024. 
5. to ratify the new President for a term of two years 2024-2026.
6. to hear and consider the report of the Anti-Doping Officer (a matter of compliance for Sport Ireland)
7. to consider an update from the Chief Executive Officer of the Company

NOTE: A member entitled to attend and vote is entitled to appoint a proxy to attend, speak and vote in his stead.  A proxy need not be a member of the Company.  The instrument appointing a proxy shall be deposited with the Company at the registered office or communicated electronically by sending a scanned completed copy to AGM2024@ireland.basketball , not less than forty-eight hours before the time for holding the meeting or adjourned meeting at which the person named in the instrument proposes to vote, or, in the case of a poll, not less than forty-eight hours before the time appointed for the taking of the poll, and, in default, the instrument of proxy shall not be treated as valid.

Basketball Ireland would also like to inform members about the process for putting forward motions at the upcoming AGM. 

Motions must be declared through the form below and submitted via email marked for the attention of Basketball Ireland CEO, John Feehan, on AGM2024@ireland.basketball, by 5pm on Friday 17th May 2024, using the subject title ‘2024 AGM Motion’.

Any motions should have the support of three Basketball Ireland members.
